McDaniel College
McDaniel College was established in 1867 as a private liberal arts college. McDaniel has a rich history of notable students, academics, and athletics. In fact, the College is a part of the NCAA Division III Conference named the Centennial Conference, in which they compete against other Maryland and Pennsylvania teams within this conference. In total, McDaniel has 24 NCAA Division III sports teams. One of more popular teams of the college is the football team. The McDaniel Green Terrors have an extensive football history dating back to 1891 when their first ame was played. Over the years, this program has produced several notable players and coaches like Rip Engle and Eugene "Stoney" Willis. In 2016, the McDaniel football field underwent a massive renovation when Shaw Sports Turf completely replaced the old field with brand new state-of-the art synthetic turf. This artificial turf was designed and engineered especially for optimal safety and performace of the McDaniel Green Terror's.
