The result was TruHop, the closest thing to natural grass. Its revolutionary design mirrors the real thing in terms of playability and performance yet provides durability that natural grass just can’t rival. TruHop can be engineered with various pile heights and infill ratios to fit each performance area of the field.
TruHop is similar to a five-tool player in baseball. A five-tool player is one who can field, throw, run, hit for average, and hit for power. In synthetic turf, a five-tool system is one that has great aesthetics, is always available, provides performance and durability, allows reduced maintenance and is safe.

While the season starts in early spring, baseball practice for many teams and programs begins in late January and early February. This offers its own set of challenges. Teams in certain parts of the country can miss up to three weeks of scheduled outdoor practices because of weather or residual effects of weather.

Our R&D team has tested fields at all levels, from recreation fields to professional baseball playing fields. We’ve done extensive research on several properties that are important in systems designed to be more like natural grass.
ALL OF OUR SYSTEMS ARE DESIGNED AROUND CRITICAL PERFORMANCE TESTS
First, we’ve studied gMax. gMax is a measurement of the impact attenuation properties of the synthetic turf playing system.
Vertical deformation is the stability of a surface measured by the amount that the surface gives in to impact.
Amount of force absorbed by the surface and is exhibited as a measure of the surface’s ability to reduce impact forces.
Ball Roll is the length of ball roll in meters from a drop of 1 meter.
VERTICAL BALL REBOUND
Vertical Ball Rebound measures the height of the ball bounce after being dropped on a synthetic turf playing surface.
THE COEFFICIENT OF RESTITUTION
The Coefficient of Restitution is the amount of kinetic energy (motion) lost after impact. If the coefficient is low (close to zero) it suggests that a large fraction of energy was absorbed by the surface.
THE ANGLE OF RESTITUTION
The Angle of Restitution is a ratio of the outgoing angle of a ball after impacting the surface vs the incoming angle of the ball as it impacts the surface.
