East Tennessee State University is located in Johnson City, TN. The Buccaneers compete in the NCAA Division I Southern Conference. They rejoined the conference in 2014 after competing in the Atlantic Sun Conference since 2003. In May of 2013, the Eagles Baseball team won their first ASUN Conference Championship and their second NCAA Regional berth. Eagle’s pitcher Kerry Doane won Conference Pitcher of the Year and was drafted in the 24th round by the Cleveland Indians. In May of 2014, the Eagle’s 1st baseman and pitcher, Clinton Freeman, was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
