East Tennessee State University (ETSU) is located in Johnson City, TN. The Buccaneers compete in the NCAA Division I Southern Conference. They rejoined the conference in 2014 after previously competing in the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) since 2003.
In May 2013, the ETSU Baseball team won its first ASUN Conference Championship and secured its second NCAA Regional berth. That same year, pitcher Kerry Doane was named Conference Pitcher of the Year and was drafted in the 24th round by the Cleveland Indians.
In May 2014, ETSU’s first baseman and pitcher, Clinton Freeman, was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
